Finnish business delegation in Ghana to explore opportunities

The areas of interest include the Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), Energy, Forestry, Education, Health and Agricultural sectors.

A twenty five member business delegation from Finland are in Ghana to deepen trade and investment ties and strengthen the existing political relationship between the two countries.

Their visit coincides with the arrival of the Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, who is in the country with a high powered Italian business delegation.

The Finns business delegation is led by Mr Matti Anttonen, the Under–Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Anttonen told Joy business news "I think there is quite a lot we can do to widen our economic cooperation in telecommunications, the best Finns company is probably Nokia and they are already in the country, they are working here to improve Internet, we all know Internet is very important for economic development in industries, services and even in agriculture."

He also announced that Finland's biggest energy company Fortum, will expand its operations to Ghana soon.
