The government of Ghana has taken the fight against illegal mining popularly referred to as galamsey a step further.
The Military and Police Service are preparing to deploy ten platoons to protect legal mining sites from the menace on Monday.

The Military is expected to provide protection for life and properties at their various sites.
A memorandum signed between the Chamber of Mines and the Ghana Armed Forces covered over 20 Companies.
