The United Nations Development Programme- UNDP has raised concerns over the increasing percentage of Ghanaians depending on unstable and vulnerable jobs.

The report also revealed that 50 year olds and above make up over 75 per cent of Ghana's total labour population make about 68 percent of the employees under this category vulnerable jobs.
According to the UNDP, as many as two-thirds, 16.6 million of the 25,000,000 Ghanaians live on unstable and vulnerable jobs that do not be dependable.
The UNDP is referring to family jobs, self- employment and jobs that have little capital base and jobs that are not strong enough to withstand economic shocks.
These findings were contained in a report put together by Senior Labour economist at the Economics department of the University of Ghana, Dr. William Baah Boateng.

The report also revealed that 50 year olds and above, who make up, over 75 per cent of Ghana's total labour population make about 68 percent of the employees under this category vulnerable jobs.
That is the number that the report is quoting as likely to slip down the poverty line due to the country's current economic challenges.
