A quaint English village preserved in time has just sold for £20 million

The West Heslerton Estate, in Malton, North Yorkshire, which went on sale last April, just sold for an "undisclosed amount", according to estate agent Cundalls.

The estate includes a 21-bedroom manor house, 43 let residential houses, a pub, and petrol station, among other amenities.

A quaint, old-fashioned English village, set across more than 2,000 acres, has just sold for more than its £20 million ($26 million) guide price.

The West Heslerton Estate, in Malton, North Yorkshire, went on sale last April and has just sold for an "undisclosed amount" to real estate investment firm Albanwise, according to estate agent Cundalls.

Cundalls director Tom Watson, who handled the sale, said in an emailed statement: “Cundalls received substantial interest in the sale of West Heslerton Estate and a number of offers in excess of the guide price were received with an offer from Albanwise Ltd being the successful purchaser.”

Albanwise has property interests in London and the home counties. It takes ownership of the state from Eve Dawnay, who died without an heir in 2010.

The estate includes a 21-bedroom manor house, 43 let residential houses, a pub, petrol station, playing field, and sports field. It will generate an annual rental income of around £390,000, according to the listing.

The West Heslerton Estate is set on around 2,116 acres of land.

The village's focal point is a 15.7 sq ft, 21-bedroom manor house, which needs renovation.

The village includes 43 let residential houses, a pub with a restaurant, petrol station, 2-acre playing field, and a 7-acre sports field.

When the house went on sale in April of last year, Watson told The Independent that "time had stood still" in the village.

West Heslerton was previously owned by Eve Dawnay who offered villagers cheap rents. She died heirless in 2010 and Cundalls has since been making arrangements for the sale.
