In an exclusive interview with Pulse.com.gh’s Portia Arthur, Rebecca revealed that she wanted to showcase Ghana through her outfits which were made by Ghanaian designers. The event was educative and fun-packed as she shared some fun moments with other contestants on Instagram.
“My national costumes were made in Ghana colors. I had to be fit for the pageant.
I cut down on calories and used the gym often while rehearsing my catwalk, talent and a whole lot.
“We had a cooking competition for the less privileged school pupils where every beauty queen had to cook their national meal. I seized the opportunity to prepare the famous Ghana Jollof. They loved my Ghana Jollof. It was spicy and I made it to top 5 for both talent and cooking competition. We also visited tourist sites like the Dunns River falls in Kingston Jamaica".

“All the queens were lovely and everyone had their own potential. My roommate Russia is an amazing person and had a good cordial relationship with everyone. I worked and prepared adequately for this competition and I was hoping to make my noble country proud".

"The exposure from Miss Africa 2016 really helped me. When it comes to beauty pageants, it is the same procedure one has to go through in every pageant. So the more you learn from people in all walks of life the better you become”.
“Being Miss United Nations World 2017 has raised the flag of Ghana high. It is a humanitarian pageant which propels you and makes you embark on different projects under education, health, environment, aged, violence etc.
This will have positive impacts on various societies and make it a better place. So definitely my country will really benefit and have great opportunities too out of it especially the less privileged".
Rebecca is expected to return home on July 15.
