Football match to transpire for the renaming of the Tamale Sports Stadium

A ceremonial game between Northern and Southern sector will be organized to rename the Tamale Sports Stadium

A football game between the Northern and the Southern Sector will has been organized to re-christen the Tamale Sports Stadium.

The stadium is set to be named after the late former vice President of Ghana Dr Aliu Mahama.

In speaking to the media the Deputy Sports Minister of Ghana did say the stadium was being named in honor the former head of state’s contribution to Sports Development and the club Real Tamale United.

The ceremonial game which will be played on 10th December,2017 will feature talents in the Ghana Premier League and will be picked according to where their clubs are geographically located in the country.

Coach Vincent Abubakar of 2016/2017 of Ghana Premier league champions Aduana Stars is the one to coach the northern sector team.

He spoke to the media and mentioned a number of players like Saddick Adams, Awal Mohammed, Felix Annan, Joseph Addo, Elvis Opoku, Noah Martey and Evans Coffie.

Abubakar’s opposite number will be Coach Charles Akonnor assisted by another ex-Black Stars player Laryea Kingston. He also spoke about a number of players he had penciled down Thomas Abbey, Kwame kizito, Vincent Atinga, Samuel Safo and Winful Cobbinah.

The winner of the game on Sunday will take home the prize money of GH¢ 50,000.00

The event will actually commence with a youth forum at the University of Development Studies Campus on Friday and a national health and fitness walk in collaboration with Agricultural Development Bank
