Victim’s father asked to pay GHC200 for medical report

The father of the victim, Kwabena Nyarko told Accra-based Adom FM that he could not afford the said amount and so does not have the medical report.

He said the police have refused to arrest the culprit because he has not been able to pay for the medical report.

Narrating what happened, the mother of the victim Monica Nyarko said the incident occurred after she had travelled for a funeral.

She said she later realised what had happened to her daughter when she was bathing her upon her return, but the girl was not willing to as she was in severe pain.

The 4-year-old later told her mother that one Kwabena had inserted his manhood in her in a toilet facility, and had warned her not to speak about it else she would be killed.

The suspect, right after the act was said to have brought the little girl back to her home.

She was bleeding and only began passing urine recently. She added that her daughter is in pain and this is really affecting her health.

The mother of the victim, Monica Nyarko reported the incident to the chief.

Monica Nyarko said a chief in the area has refused to seek justice for her, as the chief argued that the community gods say the suspect is innocent.

The parents of the child are therefore appealing for support to enable them to pay for the medical report and also to seek justice for his daughter.

Meanwhile, Head of Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), Chief Superintendent, Lawrencia Macaulay said her outfit will act immediately on the matter.

She called on the police to as a matter of urgency arrest the culprit for justice to be served.
