NPP's Bryan Acheampong emerges winner

Mr Acheampong polled 14,015 votes out of the total of 15, 577 votes to be elected MP.

Vida Konadu Enim of Independent People’s Party (IPP) polled 469 votes while the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Edmund Nkansah polled 439 votes.

The United Front Party’s Kenneth Kotey Nikoi managed 406.

The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) however did not contest the election.

The by-election was necessitated by the death of NPP Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Wiafe Pepera.

Peter Pepera died on May 21 at the 37 Military Hospital after a short illness.
