Inter Allies end six games barren run against Berekum Chelsea

Inter Allies ended their six games barren run in the penultimate game of the first round of the 2015-16

Having recorded three draws in their last three home games, the Eleven Is To One ensured they capped off their last game at the above venue with a 3-1 victory.

Goals from Edward Adjarklo and Frederick Boateng put the 2013-14 MTN FA finalists in command, before Frederick sumptuous finish in the dying embers of the first half sealed the result.

Saddick Adams got a consolation for Chelsea with three minutes to play, and it remained as that.

The two teams have seemingly the same fortunes of late, but the battle for the three points at stake was synonymous to third division football.

The urgency in their play, and the transition from defence to attack was awful from both sides, but it was Inter Allies who created the early chances against a dizzy Berekum Chelsea.

Frederick Boateng and Sheriff Deo Mohammed had early opportunities, but they fluffed the chances. However, ten minutes into the game, Edward Adjaklo buried the first goal, shooting home from a tight angle after a short corner kick between him and Simon Martey.

Jimmy Cobblah pushed his men on to cushion the advantage, and they deservedly got it from the spot after 21 minutes. Edward Adjaklo was brought down in the box; Frederick stepped up and banged in the second goal.

Berekum Chelsea’s desire in the game was absent despite losing 2-0, and it was Inter Allies who continued to dictates the tempo of the game.

With three minutes to end the first half, Frederick Boateng scored his second with an absolute beauty. A corner kick from Simon Martey was nodded on his path and he volleyed what could be a contender for goal of the season.

The pendulum swung the way of Chelsea in the second half, but their lacked the needed ability to cause any havoc and find their way back into the game.

Jimmy Cobblah adopted the counter attack approach, putting more bodies behind the ball and the idea worked as his team curtailed Chelsea's resurgence.

Allies created chances, but Ropapa Mensah who came on for Edward Adjaklo lost his scoring boots and neither of the opportunities found the back of the net when he was well placed.

Chelsea deservedly got a consolation from the spot courtesy of Sadick Adams when Emmanuel Nettey brought down in the box.

There was little time for the goal to give Chelsea the needed confidence to fight back and earn at least a point. And Allies end their woeful series of results.
