Pitso Mosimane: What happened against Medeama wasn’t football

The coach of Mamelodi Sundowns has accused Medeama team officials of fighting them on their bench, adding that the officiating of the Algerian referee was unbelievable.

Medeama SC on Wednesday achieved a personal best in continental football when they edged Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 to overturn a 3-1 loss in South Africa 2 weeks ago to progress to the group stage on the away goal rule.

Despite, Pitso Mosimane, the head coach of Sundowns giving the credit to Medeama for a good display, has alleged that their team officials put up an unsporting behaviour and has condemned them for that, adding that what the Algerian referee did was unbelievable in the evening.

“The game was very good, but we didn’t have control of the game, other people had control of the game. We saw what happened, it was unbelievable we had people from Medeama into our bench to fight us during the game, we had to fight back,”

“This is not football the referee from Algeria was unbelievable. But Medeama won congratulations to Medeama, they are a very good team," he said in a post-match press conference.
