AshGold hold Inter Allies in Tema

Report of the Ghana Premier League game between Inter Allies and defending champions AshGold at the Tema Sports stadium.

Jimmy Cobblah's side looked to be heading to give him a perfect start to life with the 2012-13 MTN FA Cup finalist when substitute Frederick Boateng opened the scoring fifteen minutes into the second half.

However, a difficult ball into the Allies area by Joseph Ato-Bissah pave the way for Mohammed Dauda attack, and the 5.7ft striker bamboozled his marker Emmanuel Nartey to the ball.

He dummied his way to the box, but Abass denied him the opportunity to draw his team parity, pulling his shirt and the center official Desmond Abbey pointed to the spot. He stepped up and sent the Osei Kwame the wrong way.

Inter Allies regrouped and dictated proceedings, but Ropapa Mensah and Gockel Ahortor all failed to take the chances they created, much to the displeasure of the Allies' officials, but there nothing more to separate the two sides.

Jimmy Cobblah began brightly with quality interplay, but they lacked the  cutting edge to harm AshGold. The pendulum soon swung the way of the Miners, but their end product was as fruitless as their opponents.

The best chance of the day fell the way Ropapa Mensah who was sent one-on-one with Fatau Dauda, but he skied his effort.

The second half looked more energetic as both looked to exert their presence. The home side quickly had their noses in front on the 60th minute. Ropapa Mensah sent in a swinging ball from the right flank, and Kadri Mohammed failed to clear, allowing the ball to drop on the cutely on the foot Boateng, and the number 19 shirted man made no mistake, blasting the ball beyond Fatau Dauda.

Three minutes later, Dauda Mohammed drew AshGold level from 12-yards after Emmanuel Nartey brought him down in the box. He took responsibility and rolled the ball low into the far right corner.

The two sides huffed and puffed, but neither side could find the  break through to amass all the points at stake. And Inter Allies extended to five.
