Coach Bashir Hayford who guided the Miners to win their first league title in 19 years has been struggling to Churn out positive results for the team in the ongoing season, having managed 2 wins in 11 league games.

Pressure has been mounting from the teeming fans of AshGold, making Bashir Hayford to request for his accumulated leave

However, the hierarchy of the club is yet to grant him his request, according to the CEO, Kudjoe Fianoo.

"I received a letter from coach Bashiru Hayford around 9 am yesterday. The heading of the letter is asking to step aside. He is requesting for an accumulated leave he should have had but a decision is yet to be taken.

“Management needs to meet with the board, know the one to replace him as caretaker coach before we can sanction his leave.

“His letter has come at a time, I need to be sworn-in as GHALCA chairman, so I will meet the board when I return to Obuasi, he told Kessben FM
