Mozambique ready to challenge Ghana - Abel Xavier

"We are going to fight in Ghana" - Mozambique coach ahead of Black Stars game

Ghana will host the Mambas at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg of the twin 2017 AFCON qualifiers with the return leg in Maputo scheduled to come off three days’ time.

According to Xavier, they are not afraid of the rich history of Ghana and they are ready to give the four-time African champions a good run for their money.

“We are going to fight in Ghana,” Xavier told AFP. “It would be a big mistake to believe that we do not stand a chance,”

“My players have the will to improve so we are ready for Ghana, I have ambitions and I am a realist. I know with the right attitude and the right people, things will happen naturally.”

The Mambas are currently in Ghana and they will be training at the match venue on Wednesday at 3:00pm.

Ghana are currently leading Group H with six points while Mozambique lies at the bottom with no point.
